Ich will
|
Rammstein are not just excellent at showing how good & evil are part of each human being. They also sing about those situations where “evil” is sold as “good” (most famously with ‘Amerika’).
‘Ich will’ tells us about the all-controlling person, who lives by imposing its wishes on the other person(s) (e.g. a narcissist).
And it also reminds us of the subordination of the other person(s), this probably being the point of the song: An all-controlling person is absurd in itself; the subordination from other persons takes it to the next level, as they give up everything: their fantasy, their energy.
The children-like voices of the Chorus remind us that they are those most at risk.
